What Wend stores
Wend is a trip planner. Wend stores your account and your trips. Wend does not store other data about you.
What Wend stores
- Your account. Wend stores your email address, your display name, and the avatar that you select. If you use Sign in with Apple, Wend also stores the identifier from Apple and the email address that you share. This address can be a private relay address.
- Your trips. Wend stores the content that you and your invited people add to a trip. This content is places, days, routes, notes, checklists, bookings, chat messages, and reactions. Wend does not accept photo files or other files. The pictures in the app come from Google and Unsplash.
- Your planning data. Wend stores your planning streak and the celebrations that you saw. Wend stores your travel preferences. Wend stores the places that you told Wend to stop suggesting.
Wend does not use analytics software. Wend does not use advertising trackers. Wend does not sell your data.
Which companies receive your data
Wend sends data to these companies. Each company receives only the data that it needs.
- Postmark sends your sign-in emails and your invitation emails. Postmark receives your email address.
- Google Places and Unsplash supply the photos, the opening hours, and the reviews for the places that you add. These companies receive the place. These companies do not receive your identity.
- Mapbox draws the maps and converts place names into coordinates.
- Anthropic, through OpenRouter, operates the planning assistant, the day summaries, and the notices. When you use these functions, Wend sends the related part of your trip. Anthropic does not use this data to train models.
- Fly.io and Neon operate the servers and the database.
The people that you invite
A trip is shared. Each person that you invite can see the trip and the other people in the trip. Each edit shows the name of the person that made it. A surprise is different. The people that a surprise is for cannot see the surprise until you show it to them.
How to delete your account
Settings contains a delete-account button in the web app and in the iPhone app. When you delete your account, Wend does these things:
- Wend deletes your account.
- If other people share your trips, Wend gives those trips to the person that joined first. The trips stay.
- If no other person shares your trips, Wend deletes those trips.
- Trips that another person created stay with that person.
Tell the people that you plan with before you delete your account. Backups store the data for a maximum of 30 days.
